Yr 12 Food Technology Excursion

A visit to Hornsby organic food markets and Waitara Mc Donalds tour. As part of their unit of study the Australian Food Industry , students are learning about growing food (paddock to plate), farming methods, food processing, technology, marketing and sales. Students will visit the markets to gain a deeper appreciation of growing and food distribution channels, including the types of methods of growing, organic VS non organic. We will then tour the kitchens of Mc Donald's and have a presentation by restaurant management addressing key learning outcomes being addressed in the Stage 6 Food Technology Syllabus. At the conclusion of the tour, students may purchase lunch from this venue.
