School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Round 2 of the 2026 NSW Law Society Mock Trial Competition. Turramurra High School Team Mock Trial Team students will be participating (Year 10 & 11). The Judge, St Aloysius's student team and their teacher, will be present at Turramurra High School.
Mock Trial takes approximately up to 3 hours, including some short feedback from the Judge. The competition will be conducted in the staff common room at Turramurra High School.
THS students and teacher Ms Jolliffe, will remain at school after the schoolday ends, and participate in the Mock Trial. Ms Jolliffe will remain present with students for the duration of the Mock Trial.
2026 Careers Expo
Date: 15 May 2026
Turramurra High, St Ives High, Chatswood High, Killara High, Kuringai High and Lindfield Learning Village are collaborating to put on a Career Expo for Year 9 to Year 12 students. Students from other schools will be invited to attend. Major universities, TAFE, apprenticeship providers and businesses will be exhibiting at this event. Parents and students will make their own way to and from the venue. They will be able to discuss and gather information from the exhibitors.
A Night on Broadway will be an evening performance celebrating the work that Year 7 have been studying in Music this semester. Students have been studying the topic of Musical Theatre and performance will involve a selection of works from a variety of musicals as performed by the Year 7 cohort, THS Vocal Ensemble, Dance Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble & other selected soloists/ensembles.
All Year 7 students are expected to attend and perform in this event, and their participation will be factored into their assessment of performance outcomes. If your child is unable to attend, please inform their music teacher.
Australian History Competition for Year 7-10 students run by the History Teachers Association.
The competition will be a 45-minute test held at school in A16 and administered by Ms. Kourdis. This will occur during Period 2 - students will be absent from their usual class that lesson in order to complete the test. Each student will receive a question paper, a source booklet and a computer answer sheet. There will be 50 multiple choice questions graded from easy to challenging and catering to a range of abilities. There will be a variety of questions, with the primary focus on skills and understandings.
The program will provide two separate papers: A Year 7 and 8 paper, broadly based on the Years 7-8 Australian Curriculum and a Year 9 and 10 paper, broadly based on the Years 9-10 Australian Curriculum. Practice exams will be provided to interested students, and support provided to help prepare them in the skills they will need to excel.

2026 Kangarou Sans Frontieres & Australian Mathematics Competition
Date: 26 March and 6 August 2026
Open to all students studying Mathematics in 2026, with a focus on the top two classes from Years 8, 9 and 10 as well as students studying Extension Mathematics at senior level.
Visual Arts Open Studio welcomes all students to work on creative arts projects beyond their Visual Arts class times. This additional time is essential for students to refine and develop their artworks to a high standard.
Rationale: High achievement in Visual Arts requires sustained engagement with materials, techniques, and conceptual development. By allowing students access to the Visual Arts classroom, they will be able to:
Build Technique and Skill: Develop effective use of techniques and materials relevant to their chosen medium. Enhance Quality of Work: Improve overall craftsmanship and attention to detail in their finished pieces.
Foster Innovation: Encourage experimentation with new processes and ideas to push creative boundaries.
Gain feedback and expertise: Visual Arts teachers will be available to students to provide guidance, feedback and expertise to support their artmaking.
Visual Arts HCS Studio welcomes all Year 12 Visual Arts students to work on their body of work beyond regular class times. This additional time is essential for students to refine and develop their artworks to a high standard. Students are strongly encouraged to attend.
For students to participate in the school athletics carnival and look to qualify for the Ku-ring-gai Zone Carnival. All students are required to attend as the carnival is part of the school's program. There will be no teachers or lessons occurring at school.
All students attending will be required to stay for the duration of the carnival. (No early leavers.)
Students from the THS Vocal Ensemble will continue preparing for the In Concert Performance with the Arts Unit in a combined schools rehearsal. Students to arrive at Turramurra Station 7:45am for roll marking, (boarding 8:03am train to arrive at the venue by 9am). Students will return to Turramurra Station approx 4:00pm at the conclusion of the event.
Attendance of this excursion will play a monumental role in a students understanding of the Module A and The Tempest/Hagseed and will be a great opportunity for students to expand the scope of their appreciation and understanding of the texts.
NSW Rural Fire Service Secondary Schools Cadet Program
Date: April - June 2026
The NSW RFS Secondary School Cadet Program (SSCP) presents Year 10 students with the opportunity to follow the values and training of the NSW RFS Members during the school year. Students will learn new and valuable skills as they participate in interesting and challenging training.

High achievement in Music requires sustained engagement with instruments, techniques, and performance development. By allowing students access to the Music learning spaces, they will be able to:

Practice instruments, learn parts or rehearse
Receive specific feedback and guidance
Collaborate and exchange ideas with fellow musicians
Logistics:
Students will be supervised in the B Block Music areas by a Music teacher during the designated times.
All necessary health and safety protocols will be followed.
Students will be expected to use this time productively and respectfully within the learning environment.
This opportunity will contribute to the development of high-quality, innovative music and performance pieces.
Dates and permission:
Mondays 3-5pm: Students are required to have permission to attend, but do not have to attend every session. Students will sign on at the beginning of each session and sign out when leaving.
Students who study Music in Years 9-12 or are in a Co-Curricular Band Ensemble are automatically invited to attend. Other students can speak with Mr Sham, Ms Harper or Ms Farr-Jones to ask to be added to the event.
Year 12 HSC Study Day - Ancient/ Modern/Extension History

Students will attend the History Teachers’ Association HSC Study Day, a structured program of expert-led lectures and workshops designed to support Ancient, Modern and Extension History courses. Throughout the day, students willengage with experienced educators and HSC markers, gaining insights into keycontent, exam expectations, and effective strategies for source analysis andextended responses.
The study day provides significant educational value for all learners. Students gainclear guidance on core content, scaffolded approaches to writing, and practical strategies to improve confidence and performance. They may also benefit from refining their analytical and evaluative skills, deepening their historiographical understanding, and enhancing exam technique. Overall, the day is designed to consolidate knowledge, clarify expectations, and support improved outcomes.
THS LEOs attend the Uniting facility at Bowden Brae Normanhurst

THS LEOs have organised a community service activity at the Uniting Bowden Brae facility at Normanhurst. This event will allow students to interact with the residents at the Aged Care Facility providing students experience in interacting with adults who are aged. Students will play board games, speak with residents and play music.
The NSW Girls Handball Schools’ State Championships run at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Hall on Wednesday 13 May 2026
This will be a great opportunity for our students to showcase their skills and play against other schools as well as a chance to meet new people, develop skills and have fun.
Yr12 Engineering Students will be visiting an Aeronautical Design office Bankstown Airport to get a taster of that industry. The students will also be taking a tour of a fixed wing repair and maintenance hangar, and a helicopter hangar.
Held anually, the UBS Economics Day is designed to cover key topics in the NSW HSC Economics syllabus focusing on key macro economic themes affecting the markets. Students will hear from experts including economists from the industry and the Reserve Bank of Australia as well as HSC markers.
Students will attend the Society & Culture Association of NSW HSC Study Day, a structured program of expert-led lectures and workshops designed to support students in completing the Society & Culture course successfully. Throughout the day, students will engage with experienced educators and HSC markers, gaining insights into key content, exam expectations, and effective strategies for both the HSC exam and the Major Personal Interest Project (PIP).
The study day provides significant educational value for all learners. Students receive clear guidance on core content, exam-writing approaches, and practical strategies to improve confidence and performance in the PIP. They may also benefit from refining their analytical and evaluative skills, deepening their sociological understanding, and enhancing exam technique. Overall, the day is designed to consolidate knowledge, clarify expectations, and support improved outcomes.
