Year 9 Food Technology are studying a unit of work called "Food in Australia". Students will be participating in a walk with a First Nations guide through the Botanic Gardens to learn more about Indigenous bush foods and how these foods were used traditionally and adapted to the modern plate and palate. Our students will be on a one-hour tour through the Cadi Jam Ora garden and learn about some of the hottest bush foods on the market right now, all while tasting some Indigenous food products. Students will be meeting at Turramurra Railway Station at 8.15am and our tour will commence at 10am at the Royal Botanic Gardens. After the tour, we will be returning by train to Chatswood for lunch. Students may purchase food from the Chatswood concourse precinct. Students will be dismissed from Chatswood at 2pm to make their own way home. Students are required to wear full school uniform, enclosed shoes and encouraged to bring morning tea and a bottle of water, hat and sunscreen if required and money to purchase. lunch at Chatswood. They must also pay for their train travel on the day using their Opal card.
