School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school events may include:

2026 Kangarou Sans Frontieres & Australian Mathematics Competition
Date: 26 March and 6 August 2026
Open to all students studying Mathematics in 2026, with a focus on the top two classes from Years 8, 9 and 10 as well as students studying Extension Mathematics at senior level.
Visual Arts Open Studio
Date: Monday afternoons 3-5pm
Visual Arts Open Studio welcomes all students to work on creative arts projects beyond their Visual Arts class times. This additional time is essential for students to refine and develop their artworks to a high standard.
Rationale: High achievement in Visual Arts requires sustained engagement with materials, techniques, and conceptual development. By allowing students access to the Visual Arts classroom, they will be able to:
Build Technique and Skill: Develop effective use of techniques and materials relevant to their chosen medium. Enhance Quality of Work: Improve overall craftsmanship and attention to detail in their finished pieces.
Foster Innovation: Encourage experimentation with new processes and ideas to push creative boundaries.
Gain feedback and expertise: Visual Arts teachers will be available to students to provide guidance, feedback and expertise to support their artmaking.
Visual Arts HSC Studio
Date: Wednesday afternoons 3-4pm
Visual Arts HCS Studio welcomes all Year 12 Visual Arts students to work on their body of work beyond regular class times. This additional time is essential for students to refine and develop their artworks to a high standard. Students are strongly encouraged to attend.
NSW Rural Fire Service Secondary Schools Cadet Program
Date: April - June 2026
The NSW RFS Secondary School Cadet Program (SSCP) presents Year 10 students with the opportunity to follow the values and training of the NSW RFS Members during the school year. Students will learn new and valuable skills as they participate in interesting and challenging training.
Music Open Studio
Date: Various dates - Mondays
Music Open Studio welcomes all students to work on creative performance projects beyond their Music class times. This additional time is essential for students to refine and develop their work to a high standard.
Rationale:
High achievement in Music requires sustained engagement with instruments, techniques, and performance development. By allowing students access to the Music learning spaces, they will be able to:
- Develop compositions
- Practice instruments, learn parts or rehearse
- Receive specific feedback and guidance
- Collaborate and exchange ideas with fellow musicians
Logistics:
- Students will be supervised in the B Block Music areas by a Music teacher during the designated times.
- All necessary health and safety protocols will be followed.
- Students will be expected to use this time productively and respectfully within the learning environment.
This opportunity will contribute to the development of high-quality, innovative music and performance pieces.
Dates and permission:
Mondays 3-5pm: Students are required to have permission to attend, but do not have to attend every session. Students will sign on at the beginning of each session and sign out when leaving.
Students who study Music in Years 9-12 or are in a Co-Curricular Band Ensemble are automatically invited to attend. Other students can speak with Mr Sham, Ms Harper or Ms Farr-Jones to ask to be added to the event.

Band Competition Performance for Symphonic Wind Orchestra at Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Advanced English Holiday Writing Workshop
Date: Wednesday 8 July 2026
The writing workshop will cover the following:
1. Practice responding to short answer for Common Module
2. Thesis writing for Common Module
3. Building a comparative analytical paragraph for Module A
4. Using critic quotes in Module B
5. Responding to unseen prompts for Module C
6. Writing reflectively
THS LEOs attend the Uniting facility at Bowden Brae Normanhurst
Date: Sunday 26 July 2026
THS LEOs have organised a community service activity at the Uniting Bowden Brae facility at Normanhurst. This event will allow students to interact with the residents at the Aged Care Facility providing students experience in interacting with adults who are aged. Students will play board games, speak with residents and play music.

2026 Ku-Ring-Gai Zone Athletics Carnival
Date: Wednesday 1st July 2026
Turramurra High School students will have the opportunity to represent the school at the Ku-Ring-Gai Zone Athletics Carnival to try and qualify for the Sydney North Regional Championships.
Year 7 Science Taronga Zoo Excursion 2026
Date: Friday 4 September 2026
All of Year 7 to visit Taronga Zoo as part of their cells and classification unit of study. This will include a workshop facilitated by the Zoo.

HSC Business Studies Holiday Workshop
Date: Monday 13 July 2026
This intensive revision workshop is designed to help students consolidate their knowledge, refine exam technique and maximise their performance in the HSC Business Studies Trial Examination. Please note attendance is optional but students are expected to stay for the entire session once they arrive.
Throughout the workshop we will cover:

- Operations
- Marketing
- Finance
- Human Resources

The most commonly examined syllabus content and high-frequency HSC concepts.

HSC Music Holiday workshop

BStreetSmart 2026
Date: Tuesday 11 August 2026
BStreetSmart is a leading road safety education event by the Westmead Hospital Trauma Department, designed to educate students on the consequences of risky road behaviors through an impactful and engaging presentation.
THS LEOs Charity Shopping Event at Westfield Hornsby
Date: Sunday 5 July 2026
THS LEOs have conducted charity shopping events at Westfield Hornsby on a number of occasions. THS LEOs are intending conducting a charity shopping event at Westfield Hornsby near the Woolworths shopping area. THS LEOs have established a good relationship with the centre management at Westfield and will be working closely with them in organising this event.
